Tara Woods Office Flood

By now you’ve likely heard the news: The Tara Woods office experienced a plumbing issue that caused a flood March 11. The building required extensive repairs, beginning with water removal. 

Flag Day, the Forgotten Celebration

The American flag has an official birthday. On June 14, 1777, the Continental Congress adopted the Stars and Stripes as our national flag. BJ Cigrand, a 19th-century Wisconsin schoolteacher led his class in observing the Stars and Stripes’ 108th anniversary on June 14, 1885. He called the observance “Flag Birthday.” Then, he served as an advocate for a day of commemoration for the flag.

The Honor Flight Network Honors Veterans

The Honor Flight Network is “a non-profit organization dedicated to providing veterans with honor and closure.” Since 2005, the Honor Flight Network has provided trips for veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit their war memorials and other attractions of interest.
