Tour One of Our New Homes

Fitness Center Improvements

As a part of Hometown America’s capital improvements program, we’re refurbishing the Greenbrier restrooms and upgrading the Fitness Center.

Erin’s Corner

This is Erin Shaffer, your Fairways Country Club Activities Director. How the months are just flying by, but oh what fun we’ve had!

We had a great turnout for our August movie night, featuring The Judge. It was the highest attendance to date!

The Temporary Administrative and Sales Offices

The temporary administrative office is located at 1607 Cedar Ridge Road, next door to the old office. It’s located in the home closest to the old, original parking lot. Follow the signs around the winding sidewalk.

All administrative questions and requests should be directed to the admin office. Please make your rent payments at the admin office.
The temporary sales office is located at 14219 Oak Valley Road.

Whatever Happened to Thanksgiving?

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Source

Walk into any store after Halloween and all you see is a winter wonderland. Everywhere you turn, there are signs about Black Friday deals, Christmas trees galore and enough lights to light up a small island. This isn’t a bad thing, but whatever happened to Thanksgiving?

Betcha Didn’t Know

According to the Better Business Bureau, “Right now, 92% of consumers trust recommendations from friends and family over all forms of advertising.” So, if you’ve stumbled upon a product or service that you like, speak up and let your friends know.

Newsletter Subscriptions

You must subscribe to the newsletter to receive notification when a new Bulletin is published even if we have your email on file. This is a unique mail list for newsletter notification only.

You will receive no more than one email per month when you are subscribed to the newsletter email list—except in case of emergency when we are trying to notify as many community members as possible about an urgent issue.

It’s Time to Fall Back

Daylight Saving Time officially ends on Sunday, November 6, 2016, at 2:00 a.m. This is a reminder to set your clocks back one hour before you go to bed on Saturday night.

Welcome to the New Bark Park

Hometown America values “Man’s Best Friend” as much as you do, and we’ve provided a play area for them. The Dog Park is finally complete after a long delay in obtaining permits.

First Responders Golf Tournament and Luncheon

Mark your calendars now for our First Responders Golf Tournament. This is an occasion to honor our first responders. These men and women work diligently to assist so many in their times of greatest need. The more the merrier!

Upcoming Movie Nights

The October film, Me Before You, depicts a story of a girl in a small town who forms an unlikely bond with a recently paralyzed man for whom she’s caring. The reviews are great across the board on this one, so make plans to join us! Come a little early so you can grab your seats.

Fairways Country Club Homes Flying off the Shelf!

Our new-home sales are in full swing, and we can’t keep inventory in stock!

In May and June we sold eight new homes, and we are in the process of placing another 11 new homes here at the Fairways

Homeowner Tip of the Month: Air Filters 101

The typical home has two air returns as part of the HVAC duct system. The filters are located just inside the air duct return covers. Every bit of air in your home passes through the air filters—usually twice an hour.

Five Prescriptions for Brain Health

Doctors are beginning to educate themselves about nutrition and to pay attention to studies published in peer-reviewed journals. The information presented is common knowledge among naturopaths, chiropractors and some nutritionists who believe there is a correlation between healthy eating and healthy brain function.

Hometown America Cares About Your Opinion!

Hometown America recently sent a survey on services and amenities for your community. Unfortunately, after several attempts to collect homeowners’ email addresses over the past few years, we only have email addresses from about 8 percent of our residents. Sharing your email is very important for you as a resident. We send newsletters with valuable information and surveys that help you decide on possible future changes to your community.

Chances are we don’t have your email address. Please give it to your community manager as soon as possible so that you can receive everything essential to ensuring we can help improve your lifestyle!

Priscilla’s Corner

The holiday season is almost upon us, with the lazy, hazy days of summer long forgotten. Soon, we will start the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping and holiday baking. It’s my favorite time of year.

Be sure to read in this newsletter about all the capital improvements just completed or underway. We’re working every day to ensure that The Fairways lives up to its name in true country club style.

Greenbrier Clubhouse Entrance Gates

Many residents have complained about the height of the gates entering the Greenbrier Clubhouse and how it’s a struggle to operate them. The gates were placed there to comply with the Orange County commercial pool codes. But, wait…

Paint Party

In October, we will be offering a Paint Party with Let’s Gogh Art of Central Florida.

Wii Bowling Tournament Recap

We had a wonderful time with a small group of ladies at the Masters Clubhouse for our Wii Bowling Tournament.

Love It or List It?

Your full-time, in-house Sales Department is excited to remind you this month of two important items when it comes to you and your home in the community.

Scam Alert: Credit Repair Services

The National Council on Aging considers senior scams to be “the crime of the 21st century.” The FBI notes that seniors were raised to be trusting and polite, and these traits leave them open to financial scams. They don’t usually hang up on telemarketers, and they find it hard to say, “No,” to the voice on the other end of the line. Further, when seniors fall victim to this type of fraud, they are less likely to report it.
