We are excited to see the COVID-19 numbers start to drop in Florida, but as long as it exists with no true cure or vaccination, we will continue to take the lead from federal, state and, local officials, while considering our ability to safely staff and clean the amenities. The COVID-19 task force at Hometown America continues to meet twice weekly, reviewing any changes in recommendations from CDC or local officials while reviewing what protocol we may need to update or change to keep you safe while continuing to provide an active lifestyle you can enjoy. We are all probably more excited for this holiday season than any before! Something to look forward to and celebrate. We are already starting to plan on how we con celebrate in a safe environment. The Management Office will be closed on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27 for the Thanksgiving holiday. However, the sales office may be open. Be sure to check with them about any sales appointments or tours.

Over the last few months, some of the lawn care businesses are no longer providing services for our community. These services did not give notice that they were leaving, and we have been providing notices for homes whose yards seem to require care. If you are currently not living in your home but have someone watching it for you and usually receive lawn services, we recommend you ask them to check for a notice in the event you are one of these affected homes.
If you do have someone that does your trimming, please explain to them they need to put the trimmings out no earlier than Thursday morning before yard waste pick-up. As a reminder, this is the same procedure for bulk pick up items. There is a calendar of pick-up schedules on TWRTimes if you ever need a reminder. Thank you for keeping our community looking great!

Simply write down the updated information along with your name and address and drop it off in either box at our office; one you can pull up to in your car and one is located to the left of the office door marked “rent”. As our daily lives have shifted over the past year, many of us have moved from the gym to working out at home. Exercising in a new setting can be a great, however, we need to be mindful of just how enthusiastic we’re being in our fitness pursuits. Learn about the most common home-workout injuries and how you can avoid them to stay safe and get healthy at the same time.
This is a friendly reminder that the speed limit in the community is 15 miles per hour. Additionally, please make sure to stop at all stop signs and watch for walkers, bikers, and pets. In this first issue of the Tanglewood Restaurant Review, we’re turning the microphone over to the Carbaugh’s who sampled “Wings and Things” in Avon Park. Keep reading for their full review!
If you’re looking for a great place to eat, you have to try "Wings and Things" in Avon Park. We had heard nothing but great things about this new-to-the-area restaurant, so we decided to give it a try. We were there on a Saturday afternoon, and they were fairly busy with people sitting and enjoying their food, and others waiting to pick up take out. We were greeted with a smiling face from the very nice young lady behind the counter and she answered all of our questions regarding their menu.
They have a large variety of yummy sounding items available, such as wings in 15 different sauces, ribs, turkey legs, corn fritters, mac and cheese, fried okra, and so much more. We opted for the garlic parmesan wings, with a side of baked beans and mac and cheese. We got our meals to go, and the aroma in the car on the way home was unbelievable. We ate every last bit of our lunch, and wished we had ordered their banana pudding for dessert.
As we enjoyed the lunch so much, we went back late Sunday afternoon to try the ribs and corn fritters - we were not disappointed. The ribs were fall off the bone tender paired with their honey BBQ sauce, and the corn fritters were amazing. We would have gotten the Banana Pudding we both wanted, but they were sold out. They make them up daily, so we now know we have to get there early if we want to try this very popular dessert.
"Wings and Things" is located North of Tanglewood and the address is: 201 US-27 S. in Avon Park.
