Wii Has Arrived

Fairways Country Club has been bitten by the Wii bug. The games have begun, and we’re planning two exciting Wii events. The first one is a Wii tennis tournament. Come and join the fun.

Get Ready for Spring Planting and Cleanup

After the odd winter that engulfed the country, it might be tempting to beat Mother Nature at her own game and plant garden seeds before the official start of the season. Don’t fall for the temptation, though, because she always gets the last laugh. Wait until the last freeze date has passed before planting seeds or transplanting seedlings.

Welcome Judith Stebbins

Hometown America welcomes Judith Stebbins to the Fairways team as its new activities director. Judith is a resident of the Orlando area and comes to the Fairways community with many years of experience planning fun activities. She thrives on event planning—it’s in her DNA.

Weeds, Weeds, Weeds as Far as the Eye Can See

Spring has sprung and so have the weeds. With the warmer weather and the summer rains just around the corner it is hard to keep up with weeds and plant growth. They seem to double overnight while we sleep. Thank you to those residents who have made efforts to begin the spring cleanup process.

New Rent-Payment Option

As you know, Hometown America allows residents to pay their monthly rental payments with E-Z Pay.

However, for those who want to earn credit card rewards to use for airline miles or at other participating outlets, we now offer another hassle-free payment option. You can make your Fairways Country Club rent payment through www.rentpayment.com. If you don’t already have your account number, please contact the office. You will need it to sign up.

Buy Me Some Peanuts and Cracker Jacks...

Baseball season is back! Remember those lazy, hazy days of summer—the days of watching a baseball game and eating hot dogs and Cracker Jacks? Well, we are bringing them back. It’s game on at Fairways Country Club.

Fairways GOT TALENT!

It’s time to break our silence on this super-secret project. Our talent scouts have spread out across the Fairways Country Club community in search of residents with hidden talents. You see, we know you’re out there, even if you’ve kept your talent under wraps. And, we’re going to find you. Who knows, maybe the next Susan Boyle or Mat Franco lives on your street, right under your nose—or maybe it’s you.

When Dog Meets Dog

Sometimes being a good pet owner and a good resident is a juggling act. You love your pet, and, of course, it can do no wrong. But what happens when you walk your dog and pass another resident (whose pet can also do no wrong), and the two dogs clash?

Homeowner Tip of the Month: Keep Cool and Save Money

Cool your home with these energy-saving cooling and air-conditioning tips from the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Energy Star program. A typical household spends about 20 percent of its energy bills on cooling, the EPA estimates. By improving energy efficiency, you'll be saving electricity, lowering your AC bills and helping to fight climate change.
