Holiday Greetings from Hometown America…

At this time of year we reflect on our many blessings and give thanks for family and friends. We are grateful to have you as a resident and thank you for making your home at Fairways Country Club. We consider you part of our extended family. We want to take this time to wish each of you and your families a warm and wonderful holiday season and all the best in the New Year.
…and from Fairways Country Club

Annual Fairways Country Club Toy Drive

Every year, Fairways Country Club residents open their hearts and share some holiday spirit with the greater East Orlando community.
It’s once again time for the Annual Fairways Toy Drive. Please bring your new, unwrapped gifts and toys to 14501 Pebble Beach Boulevard. The final day to turn in gifts is December 10.

Fairways Country Club Introduces the Online e-Scheduler

BIG news for the Fairways community: The new online e-scheduler has launched.
All residents and clubs will be able to reserve a meeting room in one of the three clubhouses. The e-scheduler will help management to provide room for all of the club requests and for personal requests.

Visit Our Brand, Spanking New Library

The new Fairways Country Club library, located in the Greenbrier Clubhouse is open for business. Some of the library books have been relocated, and the remaining books will be relocated early in December.
Special thanks to Virginia Smith, the librarian, for all her help, and many thanks to the volunteers who have taken on the project to relocate hundreds and hundreds of books. We sincerely appreciate your help with this project.
New white shelves have been installed and the interior of the clubhouse sports a new coat of paint and trim.

The Masters Re-Opening Party Update

WOW!! We’re glad you’re as excited about the new Masters as we are!  We quickly met our initial limit of 250 attendees for the Grand re-Opening Gala! We apologize to those that were not able to obtain tickets. This is entirely due to the fact the occupancy of the “Ballroom” is limited to 250 people. However, we determined that if we left the doors to the “flex rooms” open and in use for the party we could increase the occupancy by 100 people. If you have not already signed up there is an opportunity to do so now by calling the community office.

Annual New Year’s Day Bloody Mary Tournament

It’s time to sign up for the Annual Bloody Mary tournament for those who can make their way to the golf course at 8:30 on New Year’s morning. No, it’s not a competition to see who can down the most Bloody Marys!
The Bloody Mary Tournament is the annual New Year’s Day golf tournament that the Men’s League has sponsored for many years. Our golf pro runs the event every year for those residents who can get up at the crack of dawn on New Year’s Day.

Golf Course Irrigation Update

Attention all Fairways Country Club golfers: You’ll be thrilled to hear that the massive golf course irrigation project has been completed!
It’s all over but the seeding. We are currently seeding those areas disturbed by the irrigation installation. By spring we will have a lush green beautiful golf course. But don’t let that stop you from playing a round of golf. All 18 holes are now open for play.
Thank you for your patience while we dug up the course for this much needed irrigation improvement.

Homeowner Tip of the Month—How to Winterize Your Manufactured Home

Learning how to winterize a manufactured home can save you money on repairs and heating costs. By taking the time to winterize your home each year, you will not only save money on routine expenses, but you will usually find any minor repairs before they become major problems. You will also help to preserve the life of your home. Learning how to winterize a manufactured home generally involves the same steps as winterizing any other home.
The No. 1 Tip to Stem the Tide of Leaking Dollars
The No. 1 tip to winterize your manufactured home is to get rid of air leaks. Air leaks can make their way through doors, windows, attics, basements, fireplaces and even through poorly insulated areas. Fireplaces are a major heat loss area, so make sure the damper is closed when it is not in use. Make sure your home is properly insulated for the climate in your area.

Deck the Halls, but not the Masters Clubhouse—Fa la la la la…

We hope to have the Masters Clubhouse completed before Christmas. The construction crew is working hard to make this happen.
Because of the extensive renovations, we have implemented a new policy for decorating the Masters Clubhouse. Hometown America will decorate the clubhouse for Christmas.
Do’s and Don’ts for Decorating in the Masters Clubhouse
We know residents love to decorate the clubhouses for holidays and special occasions, and some decorations are still allowed in the Masters. Please familiarize yourself with the new Masters Clubhouse decorating policy and help us keep the Masters in all its newly renovated glory.

E-Z Pay Comes to Laguna Terrace

Hometown America does not accept postdated checks. However, we’re introducing E-Z Pay to help take the hassle out of remembering to make your lot rental payment to Hometown America.
Introducing E-Z Pay
With E-Z Pay your lot fee will be deducted automatically from your bank account on the 3rd of each month. By signing up for E-Z Pay you will never miss a payment or be subject to late fees!
If you are seasonal and would like to insure that your monthly lot rental amount is paid in a timely manner, please consider signing up for E-Z Pay. This service is also helpful when you will be on vacation or just so you don’t have to worry about the mail service or forgetting it. You’ll never be late, and the correct amount will always be deducted from your account.

Fulfill Your New Year’s Resolutions at Fairways Country Club

It’s the New Year, and most everyone has resolved to exercise. And most follow through the first few days of the New Year, but as the first week fades into the second week, many people begin to make excuses for not exercising. By the end of January, most have said, “Foggetaboutit!”
