Manager’s Corner

On behalf of the entire Fairways staff, I’d like to wish happy holidays and a very happy new year to all of our residents. The holiday season is my absolute favorite. Decorating the house for Christmas, the sparkling tree, visiting family and friends, and ringing in the new year are all truly magical aspects of this time of year.

While the holiday season is full of joy for most, it can also be lonely or sad for others. These are the residents we should make sure to include in our celebrations. If you know someone that might be alone this holiday, reach out to them and remind them they are loved. Personally, my home is like a revolving door during the holidays. Everyone knows they can always come to my house and celebrate; we are all family during this time and throughout the year. From my home to yours, I wish you all a wonderful holiday season and the happiest New Year.

Veterans Day Celebration

This past Veterans Day, we went all out to celebrate our residents who have served on November 8 in the Masters clubhouse. The Jr. ROTC Honor Guard and Color Guard from Timber Creek High School celebrated the more than 100 veterans in attendance. Everyone enjoyed a catered lunch from Dustin’s BBQ. The Fairways family saluted our servicemen and women with a standing ovation followed by a moment of silence for the fallen. It was an incredibly moving celebration to honor their spirit, bravery, and service to our great country. Thank you to everyone who joined us.

Sales Update

From all of us on the Fairways sales team, we wish you all a wonderful holiday season and happy New Year! We always love this time of year in the community when the weather cools and feels amazing. Our golfers are out enjoying the beautiful course, making friendships, and having a great time in the process.

Robin and the Retros

On November 2, the Fairways rocked out to the great songs of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, courtesy of Robin and the Retros. Everyone busted out their tie-dyed shirts and love beads to dance the night away.

In December, we can’t wait to jam out to the music of the Metro Band on December 14 at the clubhouse. It’s sure to be a night full of dancing and singing.

We’re always looking for the next great band to grace our stage. Do you have a favorite? Let us know! They just might be our next pick.

Welcome Barbara!

We’d like to give a warm welcome our newest Activities Director, Barbara Michloney. Residents might recognize her from the Pro Shop, before she joined the Hometown team as our Activities Director in October 2019. Barbara has truly embraced her position and is in the process of planning many fun events for our Fairways family.

Besides the monthly wine and cheese social and movie night, please let us know any other interests you may have. How about a dinner theatre night in Orlando at Sleuths? Enjoy dinner and try to guess “who done it” with a great cast of actors. Maybe you prefer antiquing, fishing, or wine tasting? Let us know! Our goal is to put together shows and adventures that will entertain everyone. The next time you see Barbara around the community, make sure to say hello!
