Updates
Recent changes for trash pickup and card access to the clubhouses and swimming pools may have caused a little confusion. I hope, by now, we are all familiar with the new trash pickup schedule and what items they will and will not take. If you still have questions, feel free to call or drop by the office. Our professional staff will be happy to help you.
Speaking of professional staff, a big thanks goes out to Yvonne Cadiz for 11 years of service to Fairways. Yvonne has been exceptional as our office assistant. She is so kind and caring to our residents and goes above and beyond when necessary. Yvonne has assisted me in many challenges, emergencies, and special assignments over the years. I’m very grateful for her help and friendship. She is truly our shining star!

Get ready to win big with games like poker, blackjack, roulette, and much more. All are welcome and refreshments will be available. The new entrance looks beautiful and upscale. It reflects the county club lifestyle you are able to enjoy once you’ve entered. Unfortunately, we had some unexpected setbacks with electrical requirements and other unforeseen items, but it was well worth the wait to have such a grand entrance we can all be proud of!
The card access for our pools and clubhouses is a wonderful improvement! With this system in place we can help deter any uninvited guest from using our facilities. Please remember to use the system as intended and not allow others to gain access without using a valid card.

It was a busy, informative, and fun-filled August for Fairways residents. We enjoyed a musical performance by one of our own, educated ourselves on healthcare options, and sang along to the tunes of Jersey Boys.

On August 4th, one of our lovely residents performed for our community with two local singers. 75 fellow residents came out and enjoyed the show along with punch and cupcakes. It was a wonderful evening.
IMA Medical Group presented at the monthly Fairways Lunch and Learn seminar to 35 of our residents on August 21st. They discussed a variety of healthcare options, including diabetes care, exercise programs for seniors, and setting up a health fair and educational seminars.
Movie Night on August 24th brought back the great songs of the ‘60s by way of the film Jersey Boys, the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. We enjoyed refreshments, tapped our feet, and sang along to hits like “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” and “Walk Like a Man.”

The Fairways Country Club HOA will have their annual Health Fair at the Masters Clubhouse on Saturday, October 13. The event kicks off at 9 a.m. and is free to residents and guests.
Casino Night is coming to Fairways! Come to the Masters Clubhouse on Saturday, October 6 and try your hand at a variety of card games, plus casino classics like roulette and craps. Read on for details about this exciting event.
Casino Night is coming to Fairways on Saturday, October 6. Doors open at 6 p.m. in the Masters Clubhouse. Try your hand at blackjack, Texas hold ‘em, roulette, and craps, all on real casino tables set up in our ballroom.
Each player will start out with a stack of chips and at the end of the night you can turn in your winning chips for raffle tickets and a chance to win a variety of door prizes. The more chips you win, the more raffle tickets you will have for the drawings. You may bring your own food and drinks to the party, or buy wine and beer offered by the Hometown staff.
Tickets are FREE and available to residents only starting Monday, October 1 at the front office.

Residents take note: On election day, vote YES on Amendment 2. As residents, you pay taxes by way of “pass-ons” in our land lease communities. Amendment 2 will keep the 10% cap on certain annual property taxes. It is supported 100% by Florida Senate and 97% by Florida House of Representatives, but we all need to vote YES on November 6 to get it passed again.
