Priscilla’s Corner

We’re having a great summer at the Fairways. With the temperatures rising, we are cooling off with indoor fun resident events and pool parties.

Speaking of parties, let us know what type of events you would like to have here at the Fairways. Would you rather have more destination trips like the one we had to St. Augustine, or would you like to have more local trips like to Downtown Disney, Universal City Walk or the Orlando Eye. How about trips to parks and botanical gardens or even a day at the ocean. Let us know what you would like to do, and we’ll see if we can make it happen for you.

Masters Pool Party

In July, we held a pool party at the Masters pool. Our residents endured the heat and sun and enjoyed poolside DJ music provided by Fred Nero along with games and a lovely BBQ. Priscilla and Erin extend their thanks to everyone who came out to enjoy the afternoon and for all your help in making the event a huge success.

Road Trip to Wonderworks—Outta Control Magic Comedy Dinner Show

In the words of John Belushi from the film Animal House, “ROAD TRIP!”

We’re taking a road trip to Wonderworks in Orlando for the Outta Control Magic Comedy Dinner Show. Join us for a night of dinner and laughs. We’re leaving Fairways Country Club by chartered bus, so there will be plenty of good cheer on the way to and from the dinner show.

First Responders Golf and Picnic Outing

Every day, first responders put themselves in harm’s way to keep us safe and to respond to emergencies. Every year, residents of Fairways Country Club give back to these brave men and women with a special event in their honor.

Our new home sales are in full swing, and we can’t keep inventory in stock!

“An Elegant Dinner Dance”

On Friday, July 22, The Bridge, a local assisted living facility, and Hand in Hand Home Care Solutions cohosted a dinner dance with Fairways Country Club. In addition to a wonderful dinner and a professional DJ, guests were treated to 45 minutes of dance lessons. Professional dancers mingled with residents, and those who were eager to learn dance steps had the opportunity to learn from the pros.

Foot Golf Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Have you ever tried foot golf?

We held an employee appreciation luncheon and activity party in June, and foot golf stole the show.

Love It or List It?

Your full-time, in-house Sales Department is excited to remind you this month of two important items when it comes to you and your home in the community.

Pet Etiquette for a Dog-Friendly Community

Several residents asked us to run an article on pet etiquette. We’re more than happy to oblige by providing some pointers.

Our community is extremely pet friendly, and living among other pets and their guardians requires us all to observe basic pet etiquette. Here are a few tips from the experts.

Hometown America Cares About Your Opinion!

Gena, do we want to run this for a few issues?

Hometown America recently sent a survey on services and amenities for your community. Unfortunately after several attempts to collect homeowner’s email addresses over the past few years, we only have email addresses from about 8 percent of our residents. Sharing your email is very important for you as a resident. We send newsletters with valuable information and surveys that help you decide on future possible changes to your community.

Chances are we don’t have your email address. Please give it to your community manager as soon as possible so that you can receive everything essential to ensuring we can help improve your lifestyle!

Cornhole Tournament

In July we held the first of many cornhole tournaments. For the first event, we had a small turnout, but those in attendance had a great time. Our first-place winners were Bill Kirchner and Debbie Yeagley. Our second-place winners were Fran Ragsdale and Nora Brendle. Congratulations to them for winning the tournament and sharing in the fun.

August Movie Night

Movie Night returns in August with the feature film The Judge, starring Robert Downey Jr., and Robert Duvall.

Wii Bowling

Remember when every neighborhood had a bowling alley? That’s no longer the case, but bowling has come to Fairways Country Club, thanks to Wii sports.

Golf Course Update

Have you noticed the golf course is looking better than ever? That’s because we finished the irrigation overhaul, which has resulted in a lush, beautiful course. All 18 holes are open for play.
