Hometown America recently sent a survey on services and amenities for your community. Unfortunately after several attempts to collect homeowner’s email addresses over the past few years, we only have email addresses from about 8 percent of our residents.

Love It or List It?

Your full-time, in-house Sales Department is excited to remind you this month of two important items when it comes to you and your home in the community.

Water Conservation in the Garden

Happy Fourth of July

As we celebrate our country’s independence, let’s remember those men and women who are away from home, in harm’s way, fighting to keep us free. For those men and women serving, for those who have served in the past and for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, we salute you and thank you.

By Popular Demand, Bingo Is Back

Bingo has returned! The Fairways Homeowners Association has selected a new state-approved bingo system that is user friendly and provides exciting bingo games for residents and guests.

High Tea With the Queen

Just kidding. The queen sends her regrets, but you won’t regret joining us in Mt. Dora for high tea.

On June 20, we go to Mt. Dora for high tea, and we are so excited! There is limited space available for this trip, so please contact the activities director by coming to the office to sign up. The price is $40 and includes chartered transportation both ways, snacks and drinks for the ride each way, high tea, lunch and all gratuities.

FREE Smoke Alarms

Yes, we said FREE--smoke alarms, that is. Orange County Fire Rescue (OCFR) has 5,000 free smoke alarms to give away to Orange County residents.

Did you know?
According to OCFR, half of all home fires occur between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. when most people are asleep.

Homeowner Tip of the Month: Routine Maintenance Saves Headaches

Summer is hopping at Fairways Country Club, and you’ll want to save the dates for the many events taking place in July.

Hometown America Brings Pickleball to Fairways Country Club

Hometown America is excited to launch the nation’s hottest sports trend right here in our community on brand new courts. Two Pickleball courts are now open and ready for play. Invented in the 1960s, Pickleball has especially captured the hearts of seniors, and now you have an opportunity to play here in the community.

Gate Issues

After an unfortunate vehicle accident that damaged the exit gate, endured almost six weeks without an operable exit gate. Then, once we finally had the new exit gate installed and operating, it was clear sailing… for all of two hours before the main controller stopped working. We had to replace the main controller unit, which is the brain of the gate system.

We want to thank all of you for your patience during this trying time with off-again, on-again gate operations. We really appreciate your understanding.

Scam Alert: The Windshield Scam

After a perfectly nice outing to the shopping center or the grocery store, you head to your car for the trip home. So far, so good—until you reach your car.
