Hello friends and neighbors,

Spring is on the horizon with longer and warmer days just around the corner, and we look forward to welcoming back our seasonal residents, ramping up for planting season, more outdoor activities, community gatherings, and building on old friendships while establishing new ones. We encourage everyone to get involved and play a role at Pine Lakes as this is how we make our community better, together.

We are fortunate to have so many outstanding resident volunteers that lead our community organizations, events, classes, clubs, and activities that will welcome you with open arms if you choose to join in their commitment. See you soon!

Thank you all for making Pine Lakes the wonderful community that it is.

Maggie served in the US Marines Corps during the Vietnam War. She attended Legal School Newport, RI, Aviation Fundamental School Millington, TN, and was stationed at Camp Smedley D. Butler in Okinawa.

Maggie worked in Legal Records and had many aviation trips with the very difficult task of escorting fallen Marines home. Thank you Maggie for your amazing service and for being the true patriot that you are.

Restaurant Review

Located on Gurley Street across from the Prescott Courthouse is the Lone Spur Café. It has a nice Old West feel with décor from Arizona’s wild and wooly past. You’ll see photos of cowboy celebrities, old saddles, branding irons, and various ranch and farm implements on the walls.

They have a large variety of food to choose from. My favorite dish is the nachos. It is served piled high on a platter with plenty of meat, cheese, and salsa. My wife loves their Chef’s Salad. It comes loaded with plenty of hardboiled egg slices, ham, and cheese.

We’ve tried other items from the menu and have never been disappointed. Their prices are very reasonable, and you will always get your money’s worth with every meal.

Cowboy hats and boots are not required, but an appetite is! When you get home from a long day on a cattle drive, dust off your britches, hop on your horse and go into town for a delicious plate of grub!

Create a Capsule Wardrobe

Closeup of clothes iin closet

Ever heard of a capsule wardrobe? The idea goes that by cultivating a closet of only a select number of essential pieces, all of which match together, you’ll be able to cut out all the hassle and decision-making of getting dressed each morning. You’ll also eliminate the waste that comes from having a closet so stuffed you never even know what your options are.

The step-by-step process of creating a capsule wardrobe is super easy. First you have to think about your personal style and the clothes you actually wear day to day! If you live in a warmer climate, there’s no need for a drawer full of sweaters—your one or two favorites will do.

Staples of a capsule wardrobe include a few pairs of trousers, a skirt, dresses for formal and casual occasions, and a selection of tops from T-shirts to blouses. Throw a coat in there too and you’ll be surprised to find that you’re set! Start getting rid of stress today.
