August 2019

Earlier this year, a resident asked community manager Donna Peterson of Eastridge Estates for help installing new fire alarms in their home. Donna stepped up and called the local San Jose Fire Department, where she learned about the “Sound the Alarm” education program. Run in partnership with the Red Cross, “Sound the Alarm” provides home safety and smoke alarm installation information.

116 volunteers came to Eastridge Estates to install 269 smoke/carbon monoxide alarms to 309 residents. All alarms were donated by the local fire department and Red Cross. Not only was it a fun and educational day, but homes in the Eastridge Estates community are now safer.
