    Area Attractions/ Entertainment

With its rolling hills, Dade City is one of Florida’s most unique landscapes, and its quirky historic architecture, fabulous restaurants, and renowned antique stores make it a tourist hotspot. And it’s no wonder. Dade City is ideally located just 60 miles from Disney World, 30 miles to Tampa’s Busch Gardens, and 35 miles to the stadium to see NFL games.

Not that you’ll need to venture out to find plenty of entertainment and attractions. Dade City holds many events throughout the year, including an annual antique fair that draws shoppers from around the state. And speaking of quirky, Dade City holds the annual Kumquat Festival (this area is a big producer of this citrus fruit with a funny name).

That’s not all. Here are some favorite things that Dade City offers:

    * Golf, golf, and more golf! The Highlands is located within the Scotland Yards Golf Club, adjacent from the Valley Oaks Golf Club, and near the world-class Lake Jovita. Scotland Yards’ club features a banquet facility that can hold up to 150 people.
    * The Pioneer Florida Museum, situated on a 20-acre wooded hillside. The museum organizes the annual Pioneer Days Festival that brings the Civil War to life.
    * The HiBrow Gallery in downtown, a collection of local artwork, from photography to jewelry to paintings.
    * The 22-acre Wild Things zoo, with a botanical garden landscape environment for the animals.
    * A long list of antique shops and shopping opportunities in a short walking distance.
    * St. Leo University and Pasco-Hernando Community College.
    * Other community events, such as the Church Street Christmas, Country Christmas Stroll, a half-marathon run, the Dade Battle of Brilliance bike race, and a monthly Classic Car Cruise-In.
    * The Withlacoochee River Park, near the river, with 146 acres of the Green Swamp West Track, with hiking trails, canoeing, habitat, sand hills, and scenic wilderness. Here, you can ride bikes, watch birds, go camping, go fishing, and have a picnic.
    * Pasco County has many outdoor recreational areas, such as Hudson Beach, part of the Suncoast Trail, the Cypress Creek Preserve, and Crews Lake Wilderness Park.
